History Hackers: July 24-28
Mon, Jul 24, 2017, 9:00 AM – Fri, Jul 28, 2017, 5:00 PM EDT
Is your child constantly tinkering with old junk? Do they love history and story? Then Steppingstone’s History Hacker's Camp is the place for them! Over a week of investigative history, campers will interact with the past in new and exciting ways! They’ll learn the basics of early 20th century farm life, how to preserve food for a long winter, and explore many of the activities children a hundred years ago enjoyed all while exploring the idea of creating and “hacking” history as it takes place. Camp for ages 11-14
The morning session will explore farming and skilled work in the early 20th century, while the afternoon will look at 19th century survival skills and different ways that children and young people entertained themselves in the years before the television.
Morning Session runs 9am-12pm, and the afternoon session from 1:30-5pm. For campers participating in both sessions there is a supervised lunch/play time from 12-1:30pm. Campers bring their own lunch.
