Description

The two part course will stress the role of buildings and treatises from the past with its long classical tradition that can guide architects who design traditional and classical buildings and urbanism today. With examples from antiquity to the present; a clear focus will be on the enduring principles of beauty that classical buildings seek, and the adaptation of worthy precedents to the particular roles buildings are to play in serving the common good. From this course will emerge and understanding of houw to study historical buildings and theories and use analytical techniques that allow attendees to design buildings that serve new, current circumstances.
