Event Information
About this Event
Community Matters Cafe will be hosting History & Homage: A Culinary Celebration of Black History. In this 5-course dinner, we'll explore the influence of different chefs throughout history. Beyond a delicious meal, this dinner will be an opportunity for all of us to learn, grow, and celebrate together.
Chefs Chayil Johnson of Community Matters Cafe and Brandon Staton of Leah and Louise are teaming up to present this artfully prepared menu:
- First Course: Winter Green Salad, inspired by Abby Fisher
- Second Course: Sunchoke Soup, inspired by Rufus Estes
- Third Course: Red Beans and Rice, inspired by Leah Chase
- Fourth Course: Stewed Game Bird, inspired by Edna Lewis
- Fifth Course: Pound Cake, inspired by Malinda Russell
To ensure the safety of our guests and staff, we will be limiting the number of guests and enforcing mask-wearing and social distancing when not seated at your table. Groups are limited to six people per table. To ensure social distancing upon arrival, we will be seating guests reservation-style in two time slots: 5:30 - 6:00 pm and 7:00 -7:30 pm.
