Description

Historic Philadelphia & Terracotta Warriors Exhibit Day Trip

Journey to historic Philadelphia for a rare and exciting opportunity to experience the Terracotta Warriors of the First Emperor at The Franklin Institute. Learn about one of the most significant archeological discoveries in history and its enduring mysteries. In 1974, a farmer in China uncovered the monumental discovery of thousands of life-sized statues, constructed over 2,000 years ago, guarding the tomb of China’s First Emperor. Since the discovery, archaeologists have excavated the warriors and researched their histories and secrets. This exhibit features ten terracotta figures and more than 170 artifacts including weapons, jade, gold ornaments, bronze bells, coins, and architectural pieces of the time period. This exclusive event is happening only in Philadelphia and Seattle!

You’ll also have the chance to see the iconic sights of the historic, cultural, and waterfront areas of Philadelphia, as well as the vibrant Chinatown neighborhood. You’ll learn about the history of Chinatown, along with some unique traditions and beautiful murals. You’ll learn about terracotta amphora still used in winemaking today and enjoy a fine Italian meal baked in terracotta clay, crafted with the flavors at the time of the Terracotta Warriors. Trip includes round-trip bus transportation, admissions, guided tour, lunch, driver’s gratuity, and tour leader.
