About this event
Architectural historian Deedee Davis gives an in-depth review of the many iconic homes along Delaware Street from 12th to 16th Streets. Several of these beautiful, grand structures did not survive urban flight, interstate development, or changing preferences of downtown real estate owners. Fortunately, many of these magnificent homes--including the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Home and the Indianapolis Propylaeum--endured along this notable stretch of early Indianapolis. Though multiple resources and collections, Deedee will highlight Delaware’s impressive assortment of architectural styles, including some rare images of past structures.
Deedee is a long-time resident of the Herron Morton Place neighborhood and oversees the digital collections at the Herron School of Art Libraries at IUPUI.
