HLF honors Hispanic Veterans and Services Members and their contributions to our community, for their excellence and perseverance.

About this Event

The Hispanic Leadership Forum of Hampton Roads, Inc., and the Norfolk Public Library (NPL) are partnering to present the Hispanic Trailblazers Awards Ceremony and Reception. The event takes place on Sunday, October 13 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Mary D. Pretlow Anchor Branch Library located at 111 W. Ocean View Avenue in Norfolk, Virginia.

The event is being held during Hispanic Heritage Month to celebrate the accomplishments of Hispanic veterans and service members, and their contributions to our community, while also promoting the culture, history and life of Hispanics in Hampton Roads. The 2019 Trailblazer Award recipients are:

Dr. Gladys Brignoni Chief Learning Officer/Deputy Commander, Coast Guard, Community Health Administrator

Marie De PedroPrincipal Broker/Owner, World Class Realty and Associate Realtors (Veteran, U.S. Coast Guard)

Also being recognized are first responders from the Norfolk Police Department who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to demonstrate community inclusiveness and unity toward members of the Hispanic community. The first responders being recognized are:
