Event description

Description

This session is for supervisors, managers, directors in all departments and settings. High turnover or low retention rates cost money and add stress to your staff. When a position is open, hiring managers are faced with the task of filling vacant positions – quickly! However the demand for a quick turnaround rushes the interview and orientation process and ultimately can result in mediocre hires starting with inadequate preparation. Both of these factors lead to compromised quality of care and decreased employee satisfaction and can result in an incident or adverse outcome.

Participants will learn how to optimize the hiring process. The session also focuses on how to create an engaging orientation period that lays the groundwork for a long term employment. Finally, participants learn how to capitalize on the momentum of great hiring with every employee interaction throughout the year. While improving these processes requires commitment and time, the benefits – from better morale to cost savings – make the investment worthwhile.
