The 2nd Annual #HipHopEd Conference & Science Genius Battles

Date: Saturday, June 9th, 2018

Location: Cowin Auditorium - Teachers College, Columbia University (525 W120th St, New York, NY 10027)
Time: 9:30am-6pm

Conference Description: The HipHopEd Conference will be hosted at Teachers College, Columbia University and will include peer-reviewed paper and workshop presentations that exemplify the conference’s theme from scholars in the field. Our conference, as well as the workshops and presentations, are geared toward all stakeholders of education, including educators, parents, students and community members. This year we have the honor of hosting Beverly Bond, Founder and Executive Director of BLACK GIRLS ROCK! a youth empowerment mentoring organization as our guest speaker. Beverly Bong is also known for creating the annual BLACK GIRLS ROCK! Awards to celebrate the accomplishments of exceptional women of color who have made outstanding contributions in their careers and stand as inspirational and positive role models in the community.

Finally, the HipHopEd Conference will conclude with the Science Genius Final Battles where Science Genius students from across NYC who have been working relentlessly on creating science raps that demonstrate their brilliance through performance. Finalists from boroughs across New York City will battle one another as our celebrity guest judges decide who will be crowned this year's Science Genius!

Registration Fee: Registration services are provided by eventbrite.com. You will receive your e-ticket to the event by e-mail. There is no registration fee for this year's conference, we will accepting donations of any amount during registration at the conference. All donations will go to support conference cost.
