Event description

Description

Shabbat service for kids (6 and up) and families.

Visitors and Non-members are welcome!

Hinei Mah Tov is our mixed-generation Shabbat Service. Families and friends, adults and children (6 and up), come together in community to explore ways to grow Jewishly, using the Shabbat prayers (in English and Hebrew) as a framework and platform.

We all have so much to gain and so much to give, no matter our age or expertise. Adults help children - their own and others’- to discover the Torah’s goodness and pleasantness. The little ones help the adults to continue to find ways to grow as Jews.

Lilly Lucey, Assistant Director, JLC

LIly has been at Shomrei since 2016. She serves as B’nai Mitzvah Teacher & Coordinator, prayer and song leader, cantorial soloist at synagogue and community events, religious school music teacher, and was often involved with synagogue and holiday programming. She is passionate about teaching Torah and Haftarah trope and Shabbat t’filot to students and their families with the hope that they will carry these skills with them for their future participation in synagogue life. She believes strongly in the importance of establishing relationships with students and families as they find their personal relationships with the Jewish experience. Lily is a Rabbi-in-training and studies at The Academy for Jewish Religion in Yonkers, NY.
