Hindugrass Live Session at Manifold Recording
Friday, April 12, 2013 from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM (EDT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Hindugrass is beginning its recording sessions for the new album by opening the studio doors and providing an opportunity for attendees to be a part of the process and contributors to and co-producers of the project. We will be recording as an ensemble live in front of a limited audience in-studio on Friday, April 12 at 8:00p.m., followed by a meet-and-greet session with the band. Participants will not only add the energy of their attendance to the energy of our performance, but witness the process of recording at one of the finest studios in the country from the inside and up close. The ticket sales are also what is making the project possible, and we thank you for your support. Seating is extremely limited, so reserve a spot while they last, or consider helping to sponsor the project with a donation if you are unable to attend.
All attendees will receive a copy of Hindugrass' self-titled debut CD release (2008). Producer-level attendees will have reserved seating in the front and more...
When & Where
The sound of Hindugrass is a fresh new voice for Indian fusion, a surprising and engaging festival for the ears in an age where everything has “already been done.” Alternately haunting and soaring sarod melodies intermingle with the sweet twang and bite of instruments from the Smoky Mountains and the rich palette of chamber strings over a driving bed of percussion instruments from around the world, all delivered with delightful virtuosity. Hindugrass was founded in Los Angeles in 1998 by John Heitzenrater and friends as an acoustic vehicle to explore the commonalities between the classical and folk music of Northern India and the folk and bluegrass styles of Appalachia. Mr. Heitzenrater’s mastery of the sarod and intricate compositions are the core thread of this exciting collective of diverse and talented musicians.
