Awareness Gala Dinner

Join Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard as she highlights her journey as the first Hindu American elected to Congress. Come also learn about HAF’s current projects and recent accomplishments. HAF is the ONLY Hindu advocacy organization based in Washington DC. View a short 45 second video to learn more about HAF’s Education and Awareness Events.

Time: 5:00pm-9:00pm (Gourmet Indian Vegetarian Dinner will be Served)
Location: India Community Center (ICC), 525 Los Coches St. Milpitas, CA  95035 
Babysitting Room: A separate room will be provided with entertainment and activities for children (ages 5 and up)

Featured Keynote Speaker
  • Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard is the first Hindu ever elected into the U.S. House of Representatives. Tulsi chose to be sworn into office on the Bhagavad Gita in January 2013. She is currently a Captain in the Hawaii National Guard.  Tulsi has been serving her state and country for more than a decade.  An advocate for environmental policy, Tulsi ran for the Hawai'i State Legislature in 2002 and became the youngest person ever elected. A year later, Tulsi joined the Hawai'i National Guard. During her deployment to Iraq and the Middle East in 2004, Tulsi received  multiple awards and recognition.Tulsi was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal during Operation Iraqi Freedom, was the first female Distinguished Honor Graduate at Fort McClellan's Officer Candidate School, and was the first woman to ever receive an award of appreciation from the Kuwaiti military on her second overseas tour.

The Hindu American Foundation (HAF) is an advocacy group seeking to provide a progressive Hindu American voice.  The Foundation interacts with and educates leaders in public policy, academia, media, and the public at large about Hinduism and global issues concerning Hindus, such as religious liberty, the misportrayal of Hinduism, hate speech, hate crimes, and human rights. By promoting the Hindu and American ideals of understanding, tolerance and pluralism, HAF stands firmly against hate, discrimination, defamation and terror. 

The Hindu American Foundation is not affiliated with any religious or political organizations or entities. HAF seeks to serve Hindu Americans across all sampradayas (Hindu religious traditions) regardless of race, color, national origin, citizenship, caste, gender, sexual orientation, age and/or disability.
