New Trends in Biomedical Informatics Research and Education
While the Big Data Revolution is still under way, new trends in biomedical informatics research are emerging rapidly. Big data itself won’t solve any problems. What we really need is precise, small, transparent, live knowledge and intelligence at the right time and the right location for the right problem of a right individual, with the power of prediction and intervention. These new trends won’t be able to go very far without a new generation of students, researchers, and developers who are trained with the newest knowledge and tools in biomedical informatics. Dr. Zhang will discuss these new trends in biomedical informatics research and education.
Jiajie Zhang, PhD, is the dean and Glassell Foundation Distinguished Chair at UTHealth School of Biomedical Informatics (SBMI).
