"What should we drink?" The girl
And a very good day
It is a pleasure and
an honor to invite you to our next event. We have been enamored with
Ernest Hemingway for as long as we can remember, and particularly with
his short story "Hills like White Elephants." The beautiful, ugly and inquisitive imagery woven seamlessly into the narrative leaves an impression on us, and it is this imagery that we hope to recreate in both meal and performance.
This meal will be an amalgamation of cocktails, performance, wine and food. Playing with some of the flagrant and subtle abstractions dotted about his story, we will capture what was most moving and salient to us, such as: simple manifestations of Anise del Toro, a broken wall of bamboo, and the barriers of language that separate a barkeep from the fractured couple.
As always these events are not only for
professional chefs or foodies; they are for anyone who loves food,
regardless of culinary knowledge or experience. We produce these
evenings to create a communal environment of social interaction,
education and fun.
