Former Secretary of State and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton appears at The Book Stall, an independent bookstore at 811 Elm Street in Winnetka, IL, to sign copies of her new memoir, What Happened. the story of one of the most controversial and unpredictable presidential elections in history.
This is a book signing only. Each ticket includes a wristband with access to the signing line, as well a hardcover copy of What Happened. Books will be distributed at the signing table. Wristbands for entry will be distributed to ticket holders on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 11 AM on the day of the event. Please arrive no earlier than 11 AM and no later than 2 PM. Copies of the children's picture book, It Takes a Village, will be available for sale on site.
Please leave backpacks, bags, and purses at home or in your car. You will not be able to bring any purses, bags, food or drink, books, or memorabilia to this event; they will not be permitted inside the store. You may only have a cell phone and wallet with you!
(This event is a signing line only. There will be no speech or presentation. Books will be signed only, not personalized)
Getting to the event:
The Book Stall is located a block away from the Winnetka Metra station on the Union Pacific North (UP-N) Line, about 30 minutes from downtown Chicago. We strongly encourage you to take Metra for ease of use! We are also accessible via CTA/Pace Bus via route 213 and/or route 423. There is also street parking.
Signing Guidelines:
- The signing line will form outside the bookstore, and go up Elm Street to the west. Please do NOT arrive or get in line earlier than 11 AM. All ticketholders will meet Secretary Clinton and receive a signed book.
- The signing will take place over several hours. Ticketholders may join the line as late as 2 PM and will have no problem getting their signed book and time for an interaction with Secretary Clinton.
- The bookstore will NOT be open during the day. We will open for regular business at 5 PM on Oct. 30.
- You must be present to receive your signed copy of What Happened. Each ticket holder may only get one book, in other words, if you purchase two tickets, two people need to be in line to receive your two books.
Books:
Each ticket holder will receive a wristband, which entitles them to one signed copy of Secretary Clinton's book What Happened.
No books or memorabilia may be brought into the store, and no books or items other than What Happened and It Takes A Village will be signed.
Security:
Ticketholders will be asked to show their printed ticket and photo ID to recieve an event wristband. Please bring a printed copy of your ticket to the event.
Note: we are aware that some tickets have been purchased by someone other than the person who is attending. As long as the person in line can reference the buyer's name so we can find their ticket, they don't need to be the same person who purchased the ticket. We will check ID to confirm their identity but it doesn't need to match the purchaser name.
- After receiving wristbands, ticketholders will be screened by US Secret Service before entering the store.

Photos:
Attendees will be required to put away all phones and other devices before approaching the signing table and no posed photos or selfies will be permitted.

FAQs
What can I bring into the event?
Please leave purses, bags, and backpacks at home. The only items you may have with you in the sigining line are your cell phone and a wallet.
What's the refund policy?
You can recieve a full refund up to seven days before the event.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
YES, you'll need to bring your printed ticket and ID to this event.
I have a child, can I bring her?
Children under the age of 10 may accompany their adult. Children over the age of 10 require a ticket. Due to the large and unwieldy crowd expected, we recommend finding other childcare arrangements for very young children if possible.
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
We are aware that some tickets have been purchased by someone other than the person who is attending. As long as the person in line can reference the buyer's name so we can find their ticket, they don't need to be the same person who purchased the ticket. We will check ID to confirm their identity but it doens't need to match the purchaser name.
