HikeAsana brings yoga poses and principles into nature, deepening and expanding your hiking and yoga experience. This easy/moderate hike is interwoven with guided yoga poses, pranayama breathwork, and yogic principles that invite participants to root down, stretch their branches, flow with the wind and water, and connect with the natural elements of the forest. The beautiful wooded trail wanders through moderately uneven terrain with some elevation changes. Frequent stops and easy opportunities to shorten the hike offer the opportunity to tailor the hike to different needs and levels. HikeAsana is guided by an avid nature lover and yoga instructor who shares her love of both practices. No yoga experience required.

WHAT TO BRING: Please wear sturdy walking/hiking shoes, loose fitting layered clothing, and bring a water bottle and snacks. Temperature changes during the season can be dramatic, so dressing in layers is recommended. Please check the weather for Shannondale, WV & bring appropriate gear for the conditions. You are also welcome to come early & enjoy lunch by the pond.

GETTING HERE is part of the fun: Allow ample time to enjoy the scenery. The final portion of your drive is along rural gravel roads. Please welcome th ae journey as the beginning of your restorative wilderness experience. Slow down, breathe, & relax. Lean into the twists & turns. Roll with the ups & downs. Enjoy the shifting light & changing temperature. Welcome the sights, sounds, & smells of the forest. As you ford the stream just before the center, imagine a splash of fresh mountain water gently cleansing accumulated debris from your vehicle, mind, & spirit. For precise directions, visit friendswilderness.org or use your GPS.

DONATIONS are appreciated. Suggested levels are $10/person or $25/families.
