You really did eat all that food and now it’s time to Hike Your Pie Off! Join the Open Space Authority and our experienced docents to enjoy grand sweeping views and cool canyons -- a true backcountry experience just minutes away from a major urban center.
You can easily reach the Sierra Vista Open Space Preserve by taking Berryessa Road toward the foothills, make a left at Piedmont and then a right onto Sierra Road. Take Sierra Road all the way to the very top and you will see the parking area for Sierra Vista Open Space Preserve on your right.
You can choose from three different hikes of variable lengths and physical demands:
• Super Hard for the serious hikers – 13 miles with 3,000 feet of elevation gain and loss
• Middle of the Road – 7 miles with 1,000 feet of elevation gain and loss
• Easy Peasy – 1.5 miles with a 500 feet elevation gain or loss – up to the Boccardo overlook to take in the view
Wear sturdy walking shoes, dress in layers and bring water, sunscreen and a snack.
