Join Highwire Improv at one of Baltimore's best comedy rooms, the Lou Costello room in Hampden!

We're bringing in some amazing improvisers from all over the East Coast for a special one-time-only show! Get ready to laugh, have some great drinks, and maybe even learn something about yourself.

About the acts:

First, we have the Highwire Hive to get things started - some of Baltimore's best improv comedians come together to take your audience suggestions and make up hilarious scenes right on the spot!

Next, from Washington D.C., Human Magnet starts to dive deeper with their performance of the Deconstruction, and improv kaleidoscope that starts with one central scene and then flips it, twists it, bops it until every laugh comes out.

Finally, we close the evening with a special performance of Whatever Fate Decides, a combination of tarot reading and improv theater. The show starts with a Tarot card reading for a special guest. As information is revealed about them through the cards, the performers can stop the reading whenever they are inspired to. A short improvised scene then occurs that expands and deepens the information shown in the reading. While the scene happens, the audience member has power to direct, shape or even stop it if they wish. The Tarot reader can also direct as needed. When the scene is finished, the reading picks back up again informed by what was shown in the scene.

As we get closer to the invited guest's Future in the reading, they gain more power to shape and control events on stage as well as how they might play out future events in their own lives.

The Lou Costello Room is one of the city’s great claims to fame — and, quite fittingly, is the perfect place to see some of Baltimore’s most talented and hilarious young comedians. The venue hosts multiple shows every week, featuring stand-up comics and improv performers — and delicious drink specials at the bar every Thursday through Sunday.
