Event description

Description

This is Highpoint's 31st camping trip!!! We hope you can come and get to know new folks and connect with old friends!!

Cedar Ridge Park at Lake Belton

Slightly secret but not really bonus: If you invite a new person/family and they come, you get a free ticket! Two families, two tickets! I'll process it like a refund, given at camp. And totally with a gold star, too.

We have a group site that can hold 80 people, with water and electric hookups for RVs. There is a marina in the park, nearby restrooms with showers, boat ramps, fishing dock, swimming beach, and hiking trails.

We do group meals--I'll send out a signup for that closer to the date. Basically, you'll just be helping purchase and prepare one meal the whole weekend, so you can sit back and relax the rest of the time.

There are screened shelters not too far away if you don't have a tent/RV and you want to come for the weekend. Here's a map of the facility--we have Group Standard Area, TURK Loop, and the closest shelters are S01-S08--make those reservations yourself if you're interested, but sign up for a FREE ticket, so we can include you in the planning!

You can also come just for the day if overnight camping is not your thing--that's a great way to get "into" camping!

The campground is partially forested with a mix of sun and shade. It lies on the shores of Belton Lake and Cedar Creek, with its scenic white limestone bluffs. Some of the campsites are directly on the shore, while others are a short walk away.

Deer, turkey and other small game are commonly seen, and a man-made wetland on the opposite side of the lake provides an additional 25 acres of wildlife habitat in the area. Hawks, Great blue herons, ducks, geese, many species of songbirds, bobwhite quail, Rio Grande turkey and even an occasional bald eagle visit the lake area, yielding year-round opportunities for birders.
