Higher Heights Youth Empowerment Programs, Inc. is hosting an information session for current high school students to enroll in our 2013-2014 College Access Program.
Rising 9th graders and their parents are also invited to attend the session.
Our college access program (CAP), located in New Haven, offers college planning services to high school students who have a desire to go to college. The CAP engages youth in a process of self-discovery while learning about careers and postsecondary education. By assisting parents with the college preparation process, it generates family awareness of the importance of planning for college. In addition, the CAP identifies areas of study that need to be strengthened to assist students in fulfilling their post-secondary goals. Our objective is to inspire and empower students who might not have considered college to achieve higher goals.
Our college access services include: college planning, standardized test preparation, career planning, college tours and visits, tutorial services, and seminars for current high school students.
Once enrolled in the program, students participate for the entire school year and are encouraged to participate throughout their entire high school career.
At the end of the information session, there will be an opportunity students and parents who are seriously interested in joining the program to enroll for the 2013-2014 program year. Interested students should bring the following items to complete their enrollment application:
