Special Guest

H. Ranjeeta Devi
Founder and Director of The Happy Home Trust and Cocoon

Ranjeeta, a teacher from the North of India, started
The Happy Home Trust in 2008 as a home for orphans
with just 5 abandoned street children. She now cares
for 50 girls and boys ranging from 6 to 16 years. The
children are fed healthy meals, have their medical
needs met, attend English schools, and have a loving
home where they have established long term relationships with each other and Ranjeeta. Four of the children are now attending college and are on their way to a successful life. A milestone for Happy Home Trust.

Cocoon was founded in 2014 when it became obvious that many women in the village were suffering abuse from their husbands and/or his family. With her many skills and talents, Ranjeeta and her staff are instructing these women in the art of sewing and tailoring. Success followed. The women have started to earn money for themselves and their children and a few have moved on to start their own business in the village.

“Educated females mean an educated nation. And an educated nation means rooting out ignorance, which will remove terrorism from the equation.” Kushbakht Shujat, Pakistan National Assembly speaking out after the attempted assassination of Malala Yousufzani
