The HS certificate work group is for SY18-19 Co-op member schools to develop/refine what it means to have a certificate of completion from their school. The work group is appropriate for high school staff who influence program structures and will meet July 11, 18, and 25th from 2-4pm at 1112 11th St, NW. Over the course of the 3 meetings the following topics will be addressed:

  • What is a certificate of completion and how does it impact a student’s future?
  • How does a school’s mission statement drive the academic program?
  • How can the academic program be modified to meet students’ needs while keeping with the school’s mission?
  • What frameworks will guide the certificate program and how do they address barriers that students encounter in the diploma program?
  • What should be taken into consideration before moving a student onto the certificate option?
