Please join us on Thursday, November 13 for the final presentation in the Leadership Management Council's 2014 Excellence in Leadership Series! Please make note that this event will take place at the Buffalo Campus. For a campus map, click here.

A high performing organization achieves financial performance for a longer period of time that is better than their peers. They setup for the long term, understand the importance of an engaged workforce, with continuous improvement as a core capability and are able to adapt to changes more quickly.
In today’s global economy, companies face competition not only from their usual adversaries but from unconventional rivals, some of which are in other parts of the world. The business environment is continually changing and thriving; companies must keep pace and learn to recognize the proper action when adapting to a situations. Successful companies must realize that in order to continue to flourish, they no longer can rely on the traditional leader and typical strategies. Creating a high performing organization with good communication, constructive interaction and accountability is increasingly essential for an organization to be successful.
In order to succeed in our market place today, it is essential that organizational leaders have a global vision. Effective communication is vital in our new world market and diverse work force. Organizational leaders need to create an environment that encourages diversity. Leaders look for a balance that creates an environment with disciplined processes that allows enough flexibility for innovation.
This presentation will provide an overview and perspective of elements of a high performing organization. The presenters of this complimentary seminar are esteemed members of Medaille College’s Leadership Management Council and are well experienced in organizational leadership. The session, including Q&A and roundtable, focuses on the following areas:
• Identify the layers of a high performing organization
• Recognize the characteristics of a high performing organization
• Explore high performing organizational traits
• Examine Interactive components (Strategy, Customer Approach, Values & Beliefs, Leadership Approach, Process & Structure)
• Understand the role of systems thinking and diversity
Russell L. Ackoff is a system scientist and a pioneer in system thinking. Ackoff stated "…improving the performance of the parts of a system taken separately will not necessarily improve the performance of the whole.” System thinking helps create a culture with a common vision that learns to interact and better understand how they can affect it.
This offering is open to all those who have an interest in exploring business/leadership topics with a goal of enhancing knowledge, skills and abilities.
“Not finance. Not strategy. Not technology. It is teamwork that remains the ultimate competitive advantage, both because it is so powerful and so rare.” Patrick Lencioni

This presentation is the last of four sessions in the Excellence in Leadership Series for 2014, which aims to provide continuing education and enhancement of core competencies for organizational leaders. The series is free and open to the public, but registration is required. Attendees are encouraged to register early, as space is limited.
