About this event
It is time to disconnect from the data and wi-fi world and reconnect to your roots, to your soul, and to your fellow Jews this Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur at Hollywood Temple Beth El. This historic synagogue, home to the founders of the entertainment industry, offers contemporary Jewish seekers connection and tradition in a warm and inclusive community.
Rabbis Norbert Weinberg offers soul-full wisdom. Cantor Andrew Erman returns to the congregation, where he served together with Rabbi Weinberg in the 90’s. Together, they will lift up the hearts with ancient and new sacred High Holy Day modes.
A major feature of our High Holy Days is HTBE’s own new prayer book, which weaves 3000-year-old texts with modern interpretations and user-friendly English transcriptions of the Hebrew. Rabbinic discussions and the powerfully enchanting music of the season encourage us to move forward into a year of good deeds and a meaningful life.
Hollywood Temple Beth El, known for its masterful Art Deco sanctuary, is also home to a variety of institutions, including the Iranian American Jewish Federation, a college and a school. Located at 1317 N Crescent Heights Blvd, West Hollywood, cross-street Fountain, it is in easy reach of Hollywood, Fairfax and northern Beverly Hills areas.
