My hope is for every child to be born healthy and to have the opportunity to live a happy, healthy, long life. I am modeling for babies and raising money to help fund important research and programs that help babies begin healthy lives.
Every week in Oregon more than 876 babies are born. Of these babies:
• 87 babies are born premature• 55 are born low birth weight (under 5.5 lbs)• 257 are born by cesarean section• 5 babies die before their first birthday
Babies born just a few weeks early are at risk for developmental delays and medical problems.
March of Dimes provides programs to help moms-to-be have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies, advocates for programs that help moms get care and services to improve their heath and the health of their babies, researches serious problems that threaten babies and works on treating or preventing them, provides the latest pregnancy heath information and offers information and comfort to families with a newborn in intensive care.
