Event description
Free Estate Planning Basics: You still have time in 2019! Come grab a drink and learn how-to get your legal must-do's done.

About this Event

**This event is sold out: Please join the waitlist (click on 'Register' and then 'Join Waitlist') to be notified if there is an opening and first in line to RSVP for the next event in January.**

Estate Planning sounds stuffy, or like something a 'Land baron' would do, but it really means getting organized: in case of an emergency, worst case scenario, or the inevitable. Getting your wills, living wills (also called an ACD), power of attorney, or trust documents done can stay on your to-do list for years - 50% of US adults don't have their wills done.

It seems complicated but it's much easier than you think - and you still have time to start off the new year with one less (hugely important!) thing on your to-do list! Join us:

Chanel Reynolds: Founder of Get Your Shit Together and author of 'What Matters Most. The Get Your Sh*t Together Guide to Wills, Money, Insurance, and Life's 'What-ifs'. Advocate for end-of-life planning.

Shreya Ley and Colin Ley: Estate Planning Attorneys. Founders of LayRoots Legal and Estate planning services.

Event Details: This event is free, but RSVP is required as there is limited space available.

More Event Details

What Will We Learn? Lots! We'll make sure to leave time for questions, but we plan to cover:

  • Whats the difference between a will and a living will?
  • Do I need a trust? How does that work?
  • What happens if I die without a will?
  • How do I find out if my parents have their documents done?
  • Where do I store it and who should have a copy?
  • How much does it cost to get this done?

Anything Else?

Chanel will have copies of her book available for purchase at the event. Books are $25 for a hardcover copy (check, paypal or venmo), or you can purchase online/bring your own copy and Chanel will sign it on request.

Shreya and Colin will have information about their services, including a description of their fees.
