Do you want to dig below the surface to discover the geologic history of eastern Oregon? Join us for a presentation by Dr. Scott Burns from Portland State University to discover the fascinating past events that shaped the landscapes we see today. Travel through time during this evening highlighting the best of your high desert and get inspired for your next trip to see these geologic wonders!

About the speaker: Dr. Scott Burns earned his MS from Stanford University in 1970, and earned his PhD in Geology from the University of Colorado in 1980. He joined the PSU Geology faculty in 1990, bringing with him 20 years of teaching experience. Scott is past national president of the Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists (AEG) and vice president of the international sister of the US group, IAEG.


The event will take place at Portland's First Congregational Church, 1126 SW Park Avenue in downtown Portland. The event is free and open to the public. Space is limited and registration is required.
