A Month of Stand-Up for Mental Health Research

WHAT: The 14th Annual March Comedy Madness tips off in Boston where over sixty-four stand-up comedians and their fans raise money for the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation as they battle for mental health research in this single-elimination bracketed event taking place at Bent Water Brewing Company, Emerson College, Beacon Hill Pub, The Comedy Studio, Hideout at White Bull Tavern, Rozzie Square Theater, Jacque’s Cabaret, and Cambridge Comedy Underground at CCTV. Head-to-head match-ups begin at one to two minutes apiece and increase in length as comedians advance until one champion remains.

Past winners include Julian McCullough, Reese Waters, Myq Kaplan, Sam Morril, Samba Schutte, Adam Yenser, Nick Cobb, Jay Hollingsworth, Greg Wilson & Harrison Greenbaum & Chris Hurst (2015 Regional Champs), Shannon Leigh & Mike Kramer (2016 Co-Champions), Lance Weiss, Kyle McNally, and Sean Duffy.

Show is 21

Seating is first come first serve and not guaranteed.

"It is madness," said event founder Josh Filipowski. "It is anyone’s game in the first rounds, but the more seasoned comedians shine in later rounds. We always crown a worthy champ and it’s all for a worthy cause."
