Remember Remember the Fifth of November, Gunpowder Treason and Plot..
Hide & Seek is a dynamic participatory performance, exploring the issues of extremism, for a limited audience of 40 and ages 11+. The piece dramatically imagines the Gun Powder Plot, following events leading up to the 5th November 1605 and the foiled attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliament and topple the King. The audience witness and are directly implicated in a sequence of resonant historical events - experiencing religious persecution, watching as the plotters unfurl their devastating plan, seeing the King enforce increasingly oppressive policies in the name of state security and imagining the potential consequences of an historical act of terror.
Hide & Seek is a potent example of devised, participatory theatre, specifically created for young people, which connects historical and contemporary issues of extremism. Attending the performance contributes to Arts Award requirements, enabling your group to both watch, take part in and review a piece of high quality participatory theatre. The performance will be followed by a Q and A session with the cast and resources to support writing a review will be available through the Company's website.
