The Women’s Aquatic Network is pleased to present the documentary film, Hidden Rivers, on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, 6:00 – 9:00 PM, at the Eaton Hotel. Hidden Rivers is Freshwaters Illustrated’s newest feature film that explores the rivers and streams of the Southern Appalachian region, North America’s most biologically rich waters. The film follows the work of conservation biologists and explorers throughout the region, and reveals both the beauty and vulnerability of these ecosystems.

The film will be screened in the Eaton Cinema, the hotel’s intimate 56-person theater. Theater doors and a cash bar open at 6:00 PM. Jeremy Monroe, Founder and Director of Freshwaters Illustrated, will present the hour-long film and engage in an audience Q&A on the making of the film. He will also participate on a panel with Dean Naujoks (Riverkeeper for the Potomac Riverkeeper Network) and Trey Sherard (Outreach Coordinator for the Anacostia Riverkeeper) to discuss the DC area’s freshwater conservation efforts.

The Hidden Rivers screening coincides with Imagine a Day Without Water, a national awareness campaign that seeks to create an understanding and appreciation for water resources.

Admission price is $10 with advanced ticketing reserved for WAN, Potomac Riverkeeper Network, and Anacostia Riverkeeper members through October 24 after which advance ticket purchase will be made available to the broader WAN and Riverkeeper communities. Tickets will not be available on site prior to the film screening.

Proceeds from the event benefit Freshwaters Illustrated’s ongoing efforts to preserve North America’s freshwater diversity.
