Event description

Description

Ethics in Research Workshop for HHS Staff and PGRs:

Applying to the School Research Ethics Panel (SREP) and Regulatory approval processes for NHS-based research

The Workshop will be in two sections and you can attend one part or both. Note that the first part of the Workshop is mandatory for all PGRs undertaking a PhD in the School and a requirement to attend prior to submitting a SREP Application.

At 9.15 am Prof Liz Hughes will outline procedures for applying to the School Research Ethics Panel (SREP).

From 10.15 am to 12.15 pm a workshop will be facilitated by Dr Rachel Moser, R&D Manager at the South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, and Professor Mike Lucock. It will cover requirements and advice when applying to the Health Research Authority and NHS Research Ethics Committees for permissions for NHS-based research.

Both sessions are open to all staff and PGRs within the School. Guidance on School and external ethics applications can be found on the SREP web pages and it may be useful to look at this in advance:

Please email hhs_srep@hud.ac.uk if you have any queires or questions that you would like Liz, Mike or Rachel to cover in their presentations.
