Event description

Description

Celebrate and create with grassroots leaders in maternal and child health as they create a pop-up museum aimed to educate on community efforts to improve birth outcomes. This event honors the vital relationship between healthy communities and healthy pregnancies.

A social revolution is needed to make sustainable reductions in Indiana’s infant mortality rate (IMR). We need action that addresses the root causes of infant mortality and community women living in socially at-risk communities are leading the charge.

These leaders will lead small group discussions on women around the world who have led successful community –based efforts to improve pregnancy and infant health outcomes. Participants will also be invited to create art that represents their personal or family stories around pregnancy and infancy outcomes and what kind of revolution is needed to support healthy pregnancies. The result will be a “pop-up museum” aimed at energizing community action. The museum will be filmed, with the resultant video uploaded to a website for sustained used by community members.
