Event description

Description

23.5 million Americans have a substance abuse problem. 84% do not have access to the addiction treatment they need. Of the 16% who seek treatment, 87% receive those services on an outpatient basis.
AMS Wisconsin in Oshkosh is committed to closing this treatment gap. They strive to increase access to quality outpatient addiction and related behavioral health treatment during day and evening hours. To meet this goal they offer:

Medication Assisted Treatment

Choice of medication is based on a mutual decision between the patient and physician. At AMS Wisconsin methadone or buprenorphine, either in the form of film or tablet is prescribed.

Medically Managed Detoxification

Individuals early in their addiction who desire to be safely detoxed from addictive substances can do so comfortably under the supervision of trained medical personnel while receiving supportive counseling focused on “staying clean.”

Maintenance

Addiction is a chronic disease process that can, and often does, cause permanent alterations of brain chemistry requiring maintenance medications that AMS Wisconsin provides in addition to cognitive, behavioral, and motivational enhancement counseling. Maintenance medications include methadone and buprenorphine, in the form film or tablet.
