Who is that guy? Be prepared to look closely and discuss what you see on this interactive art history tour. The southern border of Central Park has some are the most complicated and celebrated heroic statuary in New York City. Many depict heroes of an era gone by and are unknown to modern citizens.

On this walking tour we look closely at the elements the sculptor used to characterize the subject's lives. Through discussion we will gain a deeper understanding of how the artist chose to represent the character of the memorial. Together we will broaden our understanding of the artist's perspective of who is being memorialized and how they got there.
