Event description

For engaged leaders and philanthropists, HEROES in the Park is a social event and fund-raising platform that celebrates, encourages and connects “HEROES” in our communities. We serve to impact and inspire social good through extraordinary experiences – committing to acts bigger than ourselves, supporting the next generation of HEROES dedicated to making a difference.

HEROES in the Park – Opening Night in the Park is an epic, star-studded music and culinary celebration under the stars, inspired by the legacy of Mayor William V. “Bill” Bell.

Featuring an all-star outdoor concert that includes Kool & The Gang, Sheila E., Morris Day & The Time, YahZarah, Marlon Jordan, John Brown, Rebirth Brass Brand, Durham Medical Orchestra, Durham Children's Choir and more, HEROES in the Park will bring together some of the Mayor’s closest friends and colleagues, as well as the community and business leaders, to celebrate his many contributions to the betterment of lives of people throughout our community.

HEROES in the Park is proud to partner with local food trucks, mobile kitchens and with one of the most prolific and visionary restaurateur’s – Giorgios Bakatsias and Giorgios Hospitality Group to deliver our HEROES a unique culinary experience under the stars.

Save the Children®

Save the Children believes every child deserves a future. In the United States and around the world, we give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm.
