You are cordially invited to attend the General Society of Mayflower Descendants Heritage Week Breakfast featuring keynote speaker Sheila Slocum Hollis. Join us on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from 7:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., at the Army Navy Club in Washington D.C.

Program: The Mayflower Compact and its Impact on the American Legal System with Sheila Slocum Hollis.

Sheila Slocum Hollis is chair of the Washington D.C. office of Duane Morris, LLP and was the founding managing partner. She began her energy law career as a trial lawyer at the Federal Power Commission. Ms. Hollis was chair of the Standing Committee on the Law Library of Congress of the ABA. She was named by Super Lawyers as one of Washington D.C.’s Top 100 Lawyers overall and one of the Top 50 Women over several years. She has been recognized by the American Bar Association (“ABA”) as a “Trailblazer.” Ms. Hollis is admitted as an honorary, international member of the Commercial Bar of England and Wales. She serves on the Board of the American Friends of the Royal Society. She is a Life Fellow of the ABA. She was involved in the ABA support of the 400th Anniversary of the Magna Charta and is now the chair of the ABA Standing Committee on the 19th Amendment. 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, guaranteeing and protecting the constitutional right to vote for women.

The Army Navy Country Breakfast Menu: Scrambled Eggs, Breakfast Potatoes, Bacon & Sausage, Fresh Fruit Garnish, Assorted Breakfast Pastries, Honey Butter & Preserves, Orange Juice, Coffee and Fine Tea. For those with dietary restrictions, steel-cut oatmeal may be substituted. To request steel-cut oatmeal as a substitution, please contact GSMD Administrative Assistant, Cheryl Soares at 508.746.3188, Ext. 25.

Proper attire is required, including coats & ties for men.

Space is limited so act fast! Only 80 total reservations will be accepted.
