GRANT TO PRESERVE & PROMOTE HISTORIC SITES
Join us for a Virtual Information Session to discuss the Heritage Grant opportunity which aims to promote tourism through the preservation of historic buildings, sites and districts. Applications will be accepted through July 10, 2020.
Non-profit, government and commercial entities who own or lease historic designated properties or who develop planning, educational, and marketing projects focused on historic properties and districts are eligible to apply for the Heritage Grant Program.
Two types of projects are eligible for Heritage Grants:
- Heritage Capital Projects – Capital / Exterior: Preservation and restoration project of a historic designated building or contributing building within a historic district that encourages tourism.
- Site-Specific Heritage Tourism Projects: Planning, educational, and marketing related projects that enhance the understanding of significant historic places/events or provide new insight or new perspectives on well documented places/events tied to a historic site. Potential projects could include any of the following:
- Digital projects
- Improved preservation and access to special collections and exhibits
- Development of augmented and virtual reality applications or websites
- Audiovisual collections
- Preservation Plans
- Historic nomination/designation fees
- Website improvement
- Exhibit materials
- Tourist marketing materials such as brochures and rack cards
