Greater Sacramento Regional Counselor Conference

Please join us for the third annual Career Technical Education (CTE) Counselor Conference, December 7, 2017 8:00 – 3:30 at the Citrus Heights Community Center. Last year, over 300 high school and community college counselors attended, we expect to reach maximum capacity this year as well.

We will be building on last year’s successful conference, bringing you updated information on community colleges CTE educational pathways for in-demand regional jobs. Faculty from eight community colleges (American River, Cosumnes River, Folsom Lake, Lake Tahoe, Sacramento City, Sierra, Woodland and Yuba Community Colleges) will present on their CTE pathways to careers. CTE pathway graduates will share how they identified their CTE careers, successfully navigating the post-secondary education system and how they were successful in finding a job in their chosen field.

Breakout sessions include:

  • College student services, from registration to financial aid, get your questions answered
  • In-Demand Skills for In-Demand Occupations and Workforce Trends
  • Soft skills resources
  • Industry Round Tables
  • And more…..

This year’s keynote speaker is veteran, author, motivational speaker Consuelo Castillo Kickbusch (http://www.easleadership.com/about/). She will be providing practical techniques for students to develop higher self-esteem and achieve personal goals while establishing a framework for early leadership development.
