Description

The Herbert R. Brown Society presents
A Panel Discussion: Building a Stronger African American Community

Join Cincinnati’s top community leaders for an up-close and personal discussion exploring the role of United Way of Greater Cincinnati and the Herbert R. Brown Society in the African American community.

Our efforts are critical – now more than ever. The rate of poverty in our region is astounding. 1 in 3 people in our own backyard are not able to make ends meet. Even more astounding, 75 percent of African American children are living in poverty.

The time has come for us to mobilize and create positive change – in the workplace, at home, and in our neighborhoods.

Moderated by your fellow Herbert R. Brown Society member, Lamont Taylor, panelists include:
• Kathryne Gardette, Walnut Hills Civic Leader
• Chara Jackson, Urban League of Greater Cincinnati, Executive Director
• Rev. Herbert Mabry, Madisonville Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation Board Member
• Dr. Kim Mack, John P. Parker School, Principal
