Event description

Description

Come join the NAACP Economics Department for our 2nd Annual HER Idea workshop in Detroit, Michigan! HER Idea will take place during the 110th NAACP Anual Convention. This will be an interactive workshop focused on Black female millennial entrepreneurship. Black women are the fastest growing group of entrepreneurs, but too often than not access to capital, business networks, and training act as deterrents.

Over the course of HER Idea, you will hear from millennial entrepreneurs, digital media experts, and venture capitalists about their pathways to success. Please register for one of the following tracks: STEM, Fitness, Soulpreneur (creatives and social media influencers), and Beauty. Each track will have its own intimate breakout sessions.

We will also be hosting a pitch competition at the close of the workshop. 5 lucky registrants will be pre-selected to pitch their business ideas for a chance to win seed money!

Come workshop your ideas, hear from pioneering black women, and find creative ways to build black wealth!

PITCH COMPETITION:

Please email sntahobari@naacpnet.org Subject: "HER Idea Pitch Competition" with your business concept by June 7th, 2019

Finalists will be notified on June 14th, 2019.
