What do you do when your adult child doesn’t take your advice, seems stuck in making a successful transition to adulthood, or doesn’t seem to know how to set or achieve a life goal?
At CEBTOhio, we have been working with a lot of families like these, and we’d like to share an overview of interventions that we think can foster change.
Based in Dialectical Behavior Therapy theory and practice, this workshop is designed to help understand the roadblocks to adult tasks, share ways to communicate more effectively, and teach parents how to recognize and address needed changes at home.
Please join us for a 4-hour introductory workshop designed to set the stage for long term change in young adults. This workshop will address:
- The science behind mis-matched temperaments with young adults and their families.
- Keeping temperament differences in mind, ways to change how families communicate.
- How to identify, address, and spot obstacles to changing behaviors.
- Identify what needs to be in place at home to make sure behavioral changes will last
This workshop will provide concrete interventions to take home and practice! Please register early, as seats are limited.
This offering is designed for anyone struggling with these topics, and no therapist referral is required.
