"Helping the Next Generation - Developing the Young Workforce"
Wed, March 29, 2017, 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM BST
Do you feel that you or your business can help reinvigorate Forth Valley’s youth workforce?
Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) Forth Valley is a new and inspirational organisation which aims to help the business, education and training sectors develop a dynamic and cohesive approach to the employment challenges facing young people in this area.
DYW’s aim is to build upon figures that show the more contact young people have with businesses the more likely they are to secure employment once they leave education. To increase this contact DYW is seeking to get all High Schools in the Forth Valley area engaged in a partnership with a variety of small, medium or large sized businesses. DYW are determined to make a difference to the youth workforce in the Forth Valley area and want to hear from business owners who feel they can help!
Hosting this session will be Jen Henderson and Rachael Dorman from DYW. Jen is the Programme Manager for the Forth Valley region, whilst Rachael is the Programme Co-ordinator for the Stirling area. They will give an overview of the work that DYW does, how businesses can get involved, including a variety of means such as placements, mentorship and talks, as well as touching upon examples of past successes to demonstrate how this could benefit both your business and the students.
