Event description

Description

KEP Training

  • Does your software team seem to be building the wrong system for your business?
  • Are you getting conflicting messages on what to build from your management?
  • Is manual testing taking too much time and resources?
  • Are you struggling with automating your tests?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, your team could benefit from Customer Tests and will gain hands on experience with various automation tools. Bryan Beecham, Agile and HumanRefactor Consultant, International Speaker, Video Author of TDD, Refactoring and Pair Programming will work with your entire team to learn how they can begin applying ATDD and automated testing to their software development process.

Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD) is a process to create Customer Tests that connect the business with the software development team. These tests create a shared understanding of the software requirements and confirm that the team is building the right thing. Many Agile transformations fail due to a separation between business needs and the development teams understanding. ATDD allows product owners, business analysts, QA and developers to build the requirements together. It allows confirmation that the business is getting what they need and lets the developer know when they are done.

What you will learn

  • Will look at what structural changes may be required and what technical practices and tools are commonly used to successfully automate acceptance testing.
  • New techniques such as how to properly create scenarios using the Gherkin language, how these scenarios can be automated to verify development, and how to apply these Customer Tests to your existing process.
  • Test coverage and the optimum split between automated and manual testing, between acceptance level testing and low-level micro-testing.
  • How to properly create tests and receive hands-on experience with testing tools, such as: ○ Selenium ○ Cucumber ○ Gherkin ○ Fitnesse ○ Heroku ○ Jenkins

This two day course is ideal for a whole team to attend to learn how to save time while taking their software to the next level. Group discounts are available!
