Event description

Description

Join us to help restore this important Grassy Woodland site.

We will be planting up Butterfly's Banquet with lovely local natives restoring the original grassy woodland.

Why a grassy woodland? They support many of our native butterflies, some butterfly and moth species require specific native grasses when they are caterpillars. Grassy woodlands provide important habitat for a number of our locally declining woodland birds. We all love to explore wildflowers, particularly when they are so spectacular in spring & summer. Grassy Woodlands are awesome!

We have lots of different plants to go into the ground. Let us know you are coming by grabbing a ticket! Gloves & tools supplied. Sturdy shoes and a hat is all you'll need.

At morning tea there will be a short talk by NRM Education's Jeremy Gramp about how you can plant up your own butterfly friendly garden. A sausage sizzle lunch will be provided, vegetarian and gluten free catered for, please let us know your dietary needs for catering purposes.

To find us drive down Morialta Falls road and turn into the car park just before the pay station or catch the H30 bus.
