Helen Chen's Wonton Workshop
Wed, April 5, 2017, 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM EDT
Helen Chen, Asian culinary expert, will show you how to make 3 differnet wontons, prepared 3 different ways- deep fried, boiled, and in soup. Wontons are enjoyed throughout China, and can serve as an hors d'oevre, snack or complete meal. Uncooked wontons freeze beautifully making them perfect for last minute meals, or a quick snack. The menu will include the popular deep-fried Crab Rangoon wonton, and traditional pork-filled wintons, and shrimp wontons. Helen will also share with you how the Chinese reheat and enjoy cold leftover boiled wontons which some people even prefer over the freshly cooked!
Everyone will have a chance to learn how to fold their own wontons to take home for cooking or freezing.
The daughter of Joyce Chen, and widely acknowledged in the United States as an expert on Chinese cooking, Helen brings her Asian expertise to the art of cooking. She understands the needs of the American cook as only a native can, yet she is intimately knowledgeable about the culinary practices and philosophies of Asia. www.helensasiankitchen.com
