The Washington D.C. Native, a recurring “Artist in Residency” at Bohemian Caverns on Historic U Street NW. Frequent Vocalist at Theivery Corporation’s 18 th Street Lounge with Trumpeter DonVonte McCoy’s Quitet. Martin has performed in DC Jazzfest, WinterJazzfest NYC, CapitolBop’s DC Jazzloft, National Black Arts Festival-ATL, Georgia.

A passionate songstress who, while in college, performed under the direction of Oscar Brown Jr. in on of his Musical Play’s “Four Women”.

Martin was hand-picked to compete in the London International Jazz Vocal Competition (LIJC), where she
placed as a top finalist among some 107 competitors from over 25 nations.

Internationally She has performed at Pori Jazz Festival, and Kenzi Hotel in Casablanca, Morocco. A sought after collaborator, Martin has performed and/or recorded with Steve Williams Quintet, Russell Gunn, Eric Revis, Orrin
Evans, Nicholas Payton, Gregoire Maret, since making her debut on the New York music scene in 1999. Each independently released project; Alone Together (1998) and HIDE (2005), See hear, Love (2008) have been met with critical acclaim and have lead Martin to domestic and international touring since her professional career began in New York City in 1999. Her compositions :Memphis, Rice, I Wanna Comfort You, Why Do I?, were chosen as a soundtrack to REVOLUTION ’67 – a documentary about the 1967 Newark rebellion by Emmy-nominated filmmakers Jerome and Marylou Bongiorno. The film was screened at the 27th Annual IFP Market in New York and debuted on PBS July 10th, 2007. She has two beautiful sons and full of light mother that are her inspiration for balancing family and self goals. She would be not be who she is if she never sang with them.
