The American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid Program is an optional module that accompanies the Heartsaver CPR program and is designed for any non-medical personnel who wish to learn how to render basic first aid.
This program will prepare students to identify and begin treatment of common life-threatening emergencies such as:
- A heart attack or stroke
- An allergic reaction
- Diabetic emergencies
- Hypothermia and other environmental emergencies
Students are guided step by step through video and instructor lead hands-on practice which is designed to help facilitate learning for those who wish to acquire basic first aid skills.
This course is being offered FREE to the general public on December 2, 2016, April 7th, 2017 and December 1, 2017. There are 25 openings for the course - registration is first come, first enrolled.
