Learn the polymer clay technique of mokume gane- where you make many thin layers of different colored clays and then slice through them to reveal intricate designs. Make 2 different kind of hearts using cookie cutters as templates: a puffy heart pendant, & flat heart cut-outs that can be used as embellishments on cards or made into beads, magnets or pins to wear.
About the Teaching Artist:
Laura Burlis has worked with polymer clay for eight years. She's developed her own style of using the clay like a solid paint, but also enjoys experimenting with all the exploding number of techniques for this versatile medium. Laura has volunteered with courageous heARTS as an after school apprentice since September 2016.
Fees support local artists and courageous heARTS' mission to co-create experiences with young people by offering them a safe space, built with the intention to heal and empower through expressive arts, community building, and leadership development.
