Description

The Heartland Invitational Charity Karate Tournament is a charity event organized to promote awareness of and remove the stigma attached to mental illness through the support of The Samuel R. Myers Foundation for Suicide and Mental Health Awareness. The primary goal of this tournament is to promote fun and community through the display of martial arts skill and cooperation. Competition is secondary. This tournament is meant to bring the martial arts community together for a worthy cause.

  • Trophies for 1st through 3rd place.
  • Awards for all youth competitors (under age of 13).
  • Grand Champion trophies for Black Belt divisions.
  • Martial Arts Studio Awards for student achievments and student participation.

Training in the martial arts helps to develop a person's mental, physical, and sprirtual self and may provide a person with additional tools to cope with and manage periods of crisis.
