The show's curator and art studio co-owner, Noah Quiles, states, "the theme for this show heartbreakers and life takers is about love, life and the tragic part of life, which is death, but is necessary to give life value. We all have experienced in life - heartbreak, love, and tragic losses some more than others, and it is my honor to share this with you through the work of many amazing graffiti, street art, and contemporary artists. We also proudly will be supporting our friend Dru Rey, and the Team in Training, for the support of research and development to help stop cancer, specifically Leukemia.
UP Art Studio represents an undervalued genre of artists and it is the studio's owners' goal to help remove the negative connotation assumed by many that this form of art is vandalism… but rather is ‘Graffiti and Aerosol Art’ and is a true art form. Once a month, UP Art Studio curates a gallery show and has prolific local Houston, regional, and national graffiti, street artists, and muralists painting the studio’s exterior and interior walls for each show.
