Description

350Loudoun and the Sierra Club are sponsoring a bus trip and tour of Yogaville and the Union Hill community in Buckingham County. Please join us on a journey to central Virginia to connect with the people, places, and natural resources threatened by the proposed, controversial Atlantic Coast Pipeline and compressor station. Experts will be present to answer any and all questions you might have, including Swami Dayananda, Reverend Paul Wilson, Climate Reality Project leader Paula Clements, Buckingham County impacted residents. The Atlantic Coast Pipeline is not needed. It will harm Virginians, our economy and environment, exacerbating climate change.

Bus stop location:

Rolling Ridge Elementary school, 500 E. Frederick drive, Sterling, Va., 20164. The bus leaves by 8:00 am. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before departure time.

Carpool:

7:00 AM from Vienna/Fairfax-GMU Metro station, north side surface parking lot, to Sterling bus pickup. Carpool-MUST RSVP to Susan Weltz, s.weltz@yahoo.com. Include your phone number.

Buckingham Visit - Sunday, April 22:

10 am -11am – Groups arrive on buses at Yogaville

(Yogaville Parking Lot and assembly in Sivananda Hall lobby)

11am - 12noon - Tour of Yogaville with focus on sites impacted by pipeline and visual siting of approximate pipeline route (Overlook, LOTUS, Kailash)

12noon - 12:45 - Overview of Pipeline issues and impact in Buckingham includes 10 min. overview by Jeeva Abbate, 10 min. overview by Lakshmi Fjord, comments by Chad Oba, Pastor Paul, and others

12:45pm - 1:45 pm - Lunch at Yogaville Dining Hall. Lunch includes vegan and vegetarian options plus an endless salad bar prepared from locally sourced organic vegetables.

1:55 pm leave Yogaviile

2:00 pm- Drive by compressor location

2:10 pm - Prayer vigil near compressor site

3:00 pm Arrive at the Union Hill Baptist Church

3:00 - 3:15 pm Press and media covderage event

4:40 - Connecting with Community members

4:50 final prayer

5:00 Bus departs for Northern Virginia
